our mission
"Our mission is to foster both technical prowess and essential soft skills in our students, preparing them for fulfilling careers that align with their passions and aspirations. We place a strong emphasis on gender equality, reinforcing our dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment."

Founded in 2018 by two visionary female students, Machine Mavericks has thrived over the past six years, evolving into a dynamic community of high school students and volunteer mentors.
This year we have moved into the new STEM Hub at BGC South East's Bath Road location in Kingston, Ontario. Our team is dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.
As a competitive team we embrace the FIRST Robotics Challenge by collaborating with our mentors to design solutions that are both innovative and reliable.
With a focus on teamwork and professional development, we aim to prepare our participants for future careers while building a supportive, inclusive environment for everyone.
OVERVIEW OF HOW SUBTEAMS HELP US ACHIEVE OUR GOALS

Strategy
Our Strategy team is all about the game plan for the season. As a team we priotize our season goals and this shapes robot design requirements, programming capabilities, and game
play on the field. We collaborate with all the subteams to share up to date rule changes and goal cohesion . With a focus on collaboration and fun, we strategize to score points efficiently, leveraging our alliance and maximizing our robot's performance.

Business
Our Business team works to promote our team in the community, organize fundraisers, communicate with sponsors and update them with a monthly newsletter. They're also
responsible for running our team social media and website.

Hardware
From initial designs to the final build, our Hardware team specializes in making robots from scratch. We use advanced tools like 3D printers and CNC machines to shape metal, wood, and plastics,
ensuring every part is perfect for our high-tech creations."

Software
Our Software team breathes life into our robots with code. Using Java, we program them to understand their surroundings and move with precision. Whether it's for the first 15 seconds of
autonomous action or a smooth drive during the game, we're the digital minds behind the machines.

Electrical
The Electrical team powers up our robots, creating the vital links between the brain and the body of the machine. We're responsible for installing and configuring everything from motors to
sensors, ensuring our robots have the energy and intelligence to perform.

Mentors
FRC is a mentor-lead program where experienced professionals guide us in gaining real-world skills. Our mentors bring a wealth of knowledge and collaborate with us to solve the unique
presented each year. Through hands-on instruction and continuous problem-solving, they help us overcome obstacles and develop critical thinking skills. We deeply appreciate their dedication, the countless hours they volunteer, and the invaluable real-world experience we gain under their mentorship.
