Our Journey

The Machine Mavericks (Team #7480) is a community FRC team based in Kingston, Ontario, founded by two female students.

We take great pride in our commitment to equality, inclusivity, and camaraderie among our members, ensuring a positive environment for all students.

Machine Mavericks traditionally strive to maintaining an equal male to female ratio.
We believe in the significant value of young women and men working together, which is essential for the 21st-century workplace, and we are convinced that they can achieve more collectively than separately.

Student Experience

In the fall, students hone skills like machining, coding, CAD, safety, team management, and business acumen in preparation for the competition season. This training boosts their self-confidence, communication, leadership abilities, and provides valuable community service experience, nurturing innovation and comprehensive life skills.

Come competition time, they craft a robot under mentorship and compete in two District events between March and April to qualify for the Provincial Championship. The season peaks in April when top teams from around the globe vie for glory at the World Championship.

In recent years, our alumni have secured over $600,000 in scholarships and are pursuing higher education or trades globally, at prestigious institutions such as Oxford, Harvard, and McGill, among others. Our mission is to equip students for success and support them in any future endeavors.
